This introductory course will explore for participants a sample of the wide variety of habitats found in Ireland and in brief the flora and fauna within each habitat.  The workshop will also identify sites of interest for participants, which they can visit in their own time aiming to encourage participants to get out and get in touch with nature. Workshops will include the themes peatlands and wetlands, uplands and mountains, woodlands, hedgerows, farms and grasslands, coastal habitats, towns, gardens and parks, rivers and lakes and limestone landscape.
